How to get Sportlogiq data into Power BI

Short answer

Clubs typically export Sportlogiq data or use API access included in their Sportlogiq licence, land raw tables in a database the club owns, then point Power BI at harmonised marts. Manual exports break when formats change; a maintained pipeline keeps player and game IDs aligned with league and video sources.

Export path vs API path

Some clubs start with scheduled CSV exports from Sportlogiq. Others use API access where their licence allows it. Both need a stable place to land rows — ideally a warehouse or DuckDB/MotherDuck database the club controls — before Power BI imports or DirectQuery.

All product and company names are trademarks of their respective owners. Reference here indicates intended data-source compatibility only and does not imply any affiliation, partnership or endorsement.

What breaks over time

Sportlogiq and peer providers change column names, add metrics and rotate credentials. Power BI reports that pointed at a desktop export path silently drift. Game and player IDs rarely match Elite Prospects or internal rosters without an identity layer.

How The Hockey Brain approaches it (Planned)

With your club’s Sportlogiq credentials or exports, we maintain raw → identity → analysis tables in your EU database, preserve Sportlogiq native IDs, and expose marts Power BI can refresh. Status: Planned — not live in early access.

No connector is live yet. The Hockey Brain lists every named product as Planned or Exploring — intended compatibility only, not a partnership.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need a separate Sportlogiq licence?

Yes. Your club connects with its own Sportlogiq account or exports; we do not resell tracking data.

Can we use Excel instead of Power BI?

Yes. The same matched tables can feed Excel or Google Sheets from the club database.

Is Sportlogiq integrated today?

No. Sportlogiq is Planned for the founding-club roadmap — nothing is live yet.
