Power-play percentage
Short answer
The share of power plays on which a team scores at least one goal.
Power-play percentage is power-play goals divided by power-play opportunities. It is intuitive but noisy, and it ignores shot volume and chance quality generated with the man advantage.
Deeper special-teams analysis pairs PP% with power-play expected goals (or similar process metrics) to judge process, not just results.
