Zone entries

How a team gains the offensive zone — carrying the puck in vs dumping it — and how effectively they generate offense from each.

Zone-entry tracking records how teams cross the offensive blue line and what happens next. Controlled entries (carry-ins) generate roughly twice the shots and chances of dump-ins.

Entry data helps explain why some teams out-chance opponents: they enter with control more often and defend entries better at their own line.
